Read Time:1 Minute, 33 Second

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. I’ve gotten really far behind on my comics reading, and have the stack to prove it, sadly. I’ve been catching up, but not leaving a lot of time for micro-reviews. I thought, with the launch of new (all new) and different (some not so different) books from Marvel, it’d be a good time to write a new article.

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl#1

Pretty much picks up where the last series left off pre-Secret Wars. Which is to say, it’s a delightful read.

Howard The Duck #1-2

Like Squirrel Girl, Howard picks up pretty much where the series left off, and issue 1 was it’s usual, fun read. But issue #2 was such a fantastic, surprising issue. Not only was it cute and charming and funny per usual, but there was a really effectively done, emotional story introducing two characters that I already like a ton already.

All New-All Different Avengers #1-2

I really like the make-up of the this team, and I think the combo of characters has the potential to be a lot of fun. The mix of personalities and the general tone is carrying the series and making it enjoyable so far.

Daredevil #1

It’s actually been a REALLY long time since I’ve read a Daredevil book. But, after loving the Netflix series so much, I figured a new #1 was a good place to start. Charles Soule and Ron Garney do a great job presenting us a new vision of Daredevil. The muted color palette and terse writing is perfect for DD, and I’m intrigued by Daredevil’s new status quo. The set-up in the first issue is intriguing. Definitely looking forward to more of this one.
